TTC THE TIRE COLOGNE Panel Discussion - Retreading is the Future

Representatives from industry and associations as well as civic interest groups answered questions on the topic of "Retreading has a future" during a panel discussion chaired by Mrs. Christina Guth from "AZuR" (INNOVATIONSFORUM ALTREIFEN-RECYCLING).

In context of this discussion on the TIRE Stage, the participants were able to shed light on concerns on the part of customers as well as on the highly advanced development.

The conclusion to be drawn is that tyre retreading made in Germany meets high quality standards and has long since caught up with new tyres of good quality thanks to ongoing commitment to research and development.

Mark Hinghaus-Kaul from our company proved this by explaining the company's additional standards. Consultants specifically engaged for the development of rubber compounds are making great strides in the production of safe and comfortable retreaded tyres. The resulting progress is supported by a test driver team approved for almost all tracks. The response from the motorsport world, in which King-Meiler have been established for years, is doing its part with feedback from extreme conditions.

What a big role politics could play in the growth of sustainability came out clear from the remarks of virtually everyone present. The requirement for new tyre production to optimise its products already in the manufacturing process  for later retreading was further elaborated in the AZuR initiative. Now it is the politicians' turn to meet the circular economy of materials and the growing demand among the population.
