Your vehicle with summer tyres is perfectly equipped for most various conditions of the hot season; they are suitable for our warm months in Germany with temperatures above e.g. 7 degrees Celsius, as well as for warmer regions with very mild winters.
A special characteristic of summer tyres is as low rolling resistance as possible, without losing its excellent traction - easy to tell by looking at comparably smooth tyre shoulder and small number of sipes in this area. The profile of summer tyres is directional. The profile depth of summer tyres ranges between 6 and 7 millimetres. However, if the minimum depth of only 1.6 millimetres - as prescribed by law - is obtained, only 10 percent water can absorbed, whereas the water absorption amounts to only 30 percent if the residual profile is 3 millimetres. The profile depth is taken into consideration for minimising the aqaplaning risk.
Optimal driving safety and comfortable handling can be achieved with the aid of summer tyres for the production of which special compounds are used.
Sometimes automatically speedy driving in sunny sections is supported and the traction is maintained even in “sporty” steering. Our experience on test tracks and from racing is very useful for the production and is implemented in a retreaded “King Meiler” tyre for excellent grip, with as low wear as possible - i.e. material loss - and best driving comfort as possible.
